WHISTLER HIGH ADVENTURE Fairmont Chateau Whistler

As you know, Whistler is a fine mountain resort just north of Vancouver, British Columbia. So wonderful is the snow there that it will be the site of the 2010 Winter Olympics. The head of Leisure Sales at the Fairmont Whistler is a beloved friend with whom I developed our Fall and Winter High Adventures at the Fairmont Lake Louise. Jenn Fowler Furyk is a woman who deserves to work in such a sublime landscape. She never takes it for granted. Her eyes and heart are always open to the wonders of nature around her. Jenn still is thrilled by mother nature’s magic in these very special mountain environments.

I was honored to attend Jenn’s spectacular Banff Springs Hotel wedding in November 2005 when she married a Fairmont hotel colleague whom we have all come to know and love. But when he was quickly promoted up the Fairmont ladder, both of these terrific young people were promoted out of Alberta’s Bow Valley to Vancouver. I was happy for them and their careers but so sad to lose a delightful partner in the High Adventure programs.

Jenn says that after two weeks on her new job at Whistler, it dawned on her “This is the perfect place for Charlene’s High Adventure”. She called to ask if I might like to try one in Whistler, told me about the place, and I jumped to a YES. Let me tell you, when Jenn is involved, everything is first class. She makes is happen and happen smoothly. I trust her judgement, her honestly, her pride of project and her commitment. I can’t wait to enjoy the physically active adventure she has planned for us. You come too!
